At Maruta, we believe in “local first”, the concept of revitalizing the local economy by gathering local resources and utilizing local goods. Also, whenever possible, we use organic ingredients provided by local producers. One of our most popular seasonal ingredients, Japanese horse mackerels, is caught in the early morning from Izu Islands and then flown in that same day into Chofu Airport and then delivered to Maruta. These deliveries of fresh seafood allow us at Maruta to serve seafood caught on the very same day.
